Other technologies on display at the Solutions Centre include the Open Telepresence Experience (OTX) 300 and the RealPresence Experience (RPX), which are high-end solutions aimed at creating an open environment for collaboration. Polycom Asia-Pacific vice-president, Michael Chetner, sees the education and SMB sectors in Australia benefitting from these offerings, with the gradual rollout of the National Broadband Network potentially building demand for Polycom products in new areas such as eHealth. ![]() McLean highlighted HD video and ease of use as being key factors of telepresence, and Polycom’s latest range of products aim to overcome the challenge of booking and running meetings with handy templates for mail clients such as Microsoft Outlook, where the user just needs to click on a link in the email to join the video conference and start the video feed.Įfficient telepresencing on Apple’s iPad and Android tablets is now also possible through the m500 solution, which allows for switching between video feeds and data content by simply dragging and dropping. ![]()
